The need of the client for saving wheelbases was met in such way that there is no metal-metal contact during unloading. The former solution, a wheel set spacer block made of waste wood from grinding, was replaced by a new system.
Since this application is installed outdoors and faces all weather conditions we had to choose the mixture of materials ahead and it had to be UV- and /or ozone-resistant. Then we exposed it to the temperature range from -30°C to +70°C. The component has the final measurements: height 80mm×width 130 mm×length 600mm and was made in EPDM 70Sh. A-shaped. The pre-treated tube is responsible for the rigidity of the component and thus prevents deformation during a punch into the wheelbase.

The desired use of the afore mentioned wheel set spacer blocks was expanded with a new demand. Spacer blocks with one-sided connection of industrial floor in halls or outdoors with a new geometry. The new geometry is L-shaped instead originally U-shaped.
As in the first wheel set spacer block, UV- or ozone-resistant material was used, the EPDM material. (Temperature range from -50°C to +80°C, 70 Shore A) Measurements: height 80mm×width 160 mm×length 600mm with a pre-designed tube for a higher rigidity of the component.
